Lydia Angélica Hernández earned her Juris Doctorate from Charlotte Law School with pro bono honors for her commitment and dedication to helping communities in need, after attending USC Upstate where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Attorney Hernandez is a member of the South Carolina Bar and is licensed to practice in this state. She is registered with the Department of Justice, Executive Office for Immigration Review to practice in the area of Immigration and Naturalization Law, in addition to being able to practice in the Federal District of South Carolina.

Another experience

She is fluent in Spanish and English and has been involved in the judicial system since 2000. She was a Federal Court Interpreter, Family and Criminal Court Interpreter for a period of more than fifteen (20) years. Ms. Hernández has also worked for other law firms previously as a paralegal, and after graduating from Law School, as an Associate Attorney. After founding her own law firm, Angelica Hernandez, Law, and after 4 years of successfully serving the community, she is now pleased to work with her colleague Julian Cabra at Hernandez & Cabra, Attorneys at Work, LLC pooling their efforts to provide a dignified service to the Spanish-speaking community.

Roots

Attorney Angélica Hernández is proudly Mexican. She was born in the city of Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico. He grew up and grew up in the city of Chihuahua where he obtained a degree in Social Work. At the age of 19, she emigrated to the United States with her husband Hugo C. Hernandez. She lived for 10 years in the city of Amarillo, Texas where 2 of her children were born and learned English as an adult. She has lived in Greenville, SC with her family for more than 20 years, where her youngest son was born. She worked hard until she decided to resume her education and become a lawyer thanks to the unconditional support of her family, including her parents, sister, children and her husband.

Julian Cabra

Julian Cabra

Born in Colombia South America moved to the US in 2001 and was hosted by childhood friend’s family. Began learning the English language by taking classes at the Sullivan Center and Agape Language Institute while working two jobs. Then began studying criminal justice at Greenville Technical College and at the same time began competing amateur cycling races in the east coast.

Graduated from King in 2014 with a degree in Political Science and minor in Business working towards a lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer.  Cycling coach Dan Kreiss recruited him to continue his education and cycle for King University. While racing for King University the team achieved conference champions twice and qualified to three national championships.  

After completing his degree at King, Julian attended the Charlotte School of Law and finished his degree at the Appalachian School of Law. Julian graduated in May 2018 and passed the bar in 2019 with a high score that could allow him to practice law in more than 25 jurisdictions should he seek being admitted. As of now, he has been admitted to the SC & NC bar – having been sworn in by the Supreme Court of South Carolina in January 2020, and in North Carolina by his former professor and retired Superior Court Judge Jesse B. Caldwell III. 

And with Spanish as his mother tongue and previous experience as an interpreter, Julian is passionate about helping the Hispanic community. Julian is a man who wants to seek justice for all and we are proud that he is an alumnus of King University and Appalachian School of Law. Julian is now married to his smart and beautiful wife Diana Martinez who has been key support for him throughout law school and passing the bar to be able to practice law.
